About Me
I'm a freelance writer based outside of New York City. I work primarily within the journalistic field, but have also spent a significant amount of time producing poetry and zines. My main areas of experience are sex work, queer identity, feminist politics, and music. I started my career as a music reviewer for an arts publication at SUNY Purchase and have since contributed to cultural criticism and reviews to websites like Femsplain, Not Mad, and Kirkus. I'm the co-founder of Sadgasm, a cultural criticism blog that aims to examine the social and political implications of the media we consume. During my senior year of undergrad I pursued a long-form piece about the culture of online sex work, specifically through sites like Chaturbate and Myfreecams. There I examined both the institutional structures that govern the industry and the social stigmatization of those who work within it. I've self-published two small works of poetry, the most recent of which was released in November 2015. I have a B.A. in Journalism from SUNY Purchase. I can be reached at [email protected] |
